The Best Laid Plans

I have 49 blogs sitting in my drafts. I’ve said since the beginning of the year (and every year before) that I was going to be more intentional with posting regularly. I told myself (and my consistency crew) that I was going to post a blog a day, starting Monday, even if it was just a one line blog about what my day was like, just to get consistent. Today is Wednesday and it’s the first time I’ve made it here this week. You know what they say about even the best laid plans….

I am not going to beat myself up over it, though. I’m going to celebrate that I got here today.

I guess I could give you a quick catch up of the things that have been going on. Surely, I’ve written about our big move to the beach? That was over a year ago. I should go back and look, but if I didn’t write about it, then it will just be one more thing to beat myself up over, so I’m going to assume that I mentioned that. We are still loving the beach. Flea Market Guy aka Will recently got his real estate license so we are navigating how to make that successful. I’m still doing the wellness coaching and as of the beginning of this year, I’ve been working my way through The Artist’s Way, another topic I think I wrote about earlier. I’ve read through the book more than once, but I started it again this week, when I made the promise to blog more and write more. I’ve quit traveling for work. The assistant gig didn’t work out. I’ll probably share more about that one day, but today, like I said, is just a quick catch up.

I’m writing from St. Louis. A fellow BODi partner bought a ticket to a personal development event and she was able to bring a friend for free so she invited me to come and here I am. I’m super grateful for it too. This is not an event that I would have likely spent the money on myself to go to. Not because I don’t believe in it, but because I still struggle with believing in myself. I’m getting better at it, but I still find myself being super critical and making myself feel undeserving of certain opportunities. So I will keep you posted on if my life is changed in the next two days. I’m here until Saturday. The event is Tomorrow and Friday from 9-5. Immersive.

I got into St. Louis super early today and had time to meander around. I went to the history museum in Forest Park first. They had lockers and I was able to store my ridiculously heavy backpack while I explored that museum and the art museum. In hindsight, I should have taken it with me because when I got back to get my backpack and start making my way to the Airbnb we are staying at, I ended up backtracking and walking the same direction I had already walked which added a mile or so to my trek. It all turned out ok though, because I just told myself that one day I’m going to walk El Camino de Santiago and I will need to carry a backpack bigger than the one I was carrying today. So, basically, I turned today into a training day for a future trip.

Here are a few pictures from my exploration today:

I’ll be back tomorrow with more on our St. Louis shenanigans and I’ll be checking in daily for the foreseeable future. Hopefully it’s not all boring. Thanks for sticking around.

XO
