To Vlog or Not to Vlog…that is the question

I went to rehearsal last night for the production I am participating in. I am trying really hard to contain my excitement about it. I’m just hella stoked to be able to do something so cool as an adult. It’s easy to find cool stuff to do when you are young, but as you get older, I feel like we put a lot of things on the backburner. We will do it tomorrow. Or we think we are too fat or too old or too something to do it.

A couple of years ago I was this excited about trying out for the Knox roller girls. I really love skating. I even own my own pair of skates. But as it got closer and closer, I talked myself out of it. Partly because it was expensive and partly because I doubted my ability to be a badass. Even though I feel like I am a badass in other parts of my life. So… I didn’t do it.

I don’t regret it. It’s just one of those things. But this thing was something that I’m sure I would have regretted not doing. At least once. So I look forward to Tuesdays. And now I look forward to it even more because one of my most favorite human beings in this whole universe, Melina,  is going to be in the show as well.  So now I get to see her every Tuesday, too! And that makes Tuesdays double amazing.

After our rehearsal last night, which was mostly hashing out the details of each of our pieces and then doing the beginning of a dance number, I sat outside in the car with Melina catching up and reading her poems that I may do for the show. In the midst of that, she said I should start a vlog. I’ve kicked the idea around. I’m not too super keen on being on screen, but I think I could pull it off once a week. I’m sure I’d have plenty to talk about. So I’m pondering the big question: to vlog or not to vlog?

I’d love your input on the topic. I don’t typically watch vlogs. I also don’t typically listen to podcasts. So I’m reluctant to step out of my writing comfort zone of the blog, but I’ve been doing a lot of stepping out of my comfort zone recently and it’s been paying off wonderfully.

So I’m going to be playing around with the idea of a vlog and I’ll get back to you on the how, what, when, where and why’s.
